History of Men's Team Canada

The Men’s Team Canada program began in 1996 where our Canadian athletes travelled to Bratislava, Slovakia for the inaugural World Ball Hockey Championships where Canada captured the World title. This was the first of many events that have led Canada and the World to where the international game is today which includes, Men, Women, Masters, Youth U20, U18 and U16 events around the world.

The program began with a team comprised of players from the two teams that competed in the finals of the 1995 Canadian Ball Hockey Championships and has evolved to where players are scouted annually at Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) National and Regional events. Regional and Selection camps have also been held in the past when economically viable.

Men’s World Championships are held every second year on odd numbered years and are held simultaneously with the Women’s World Championships.

Men’s Team Canada has had much success since its inception including an unprecedented 4 straight World Championships from 2001 to 2007 and has medaled in 10 World Championships.
