2014 Caribbean Cup will be held in Grand Cayman

2014-04-27

The ISBHF is proud to announce that the 2014 Caribbean Cup will be held in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on June 5 to June 7, 2014 at the Kings Sport Centre.

This beautiful facility, equipped with its unique arena and well appreciated air conditioning will be home to 4 National teams coming to Cayman from arch rival Caribbean nations of Bermuda, Bahamas and fellow B Pool nation of Armenia coming to win Gold.  Also a  group of veteran USA players will represent the USA plus the Cayman Island national team, and a host Cayman squad which will make for 6 teams looking to be crowned 2014 ISBHF Caribbean Cup champions.

This event will have a great 6 team field of teams that reside in the ISBHF B Pool, and will have the defending 2013 ISBHF “B pool” champions Bermuda in the field. This event will provide great ball hockey, and also supply the ISBHF family members of these teams the beauty of the Cayman Islands. The ISBHF is also holding a referee clinic for referee’s of the region, and we would like to thank our Canadian partner the CBHA for providing two referee’s to supply that to this region. This will be a gift to all the players/referees of the Caribbean ball hockey community.

Finally we would like to thank the Cayman Island Ball Hockey Association for winning the bid for this event. This staple nation of the B Pool has been to many ISBHF events, and its proud tradition will be presented to all the players coming to the event in June. Quite simply this event has a great host for this event.

We would also like to thank the Kings Sport Centre which will be our central hub for the event, and we look forward to some great games and camaraderie as the teams vye for Gold in this hockey complex.

ISBHF President George Gortsos states “We hope the players of the region enjoy competing against the players from abroad and the Islands as they prepare their National teams for our ever growing ISBHF B Pool in Zug in 2015, in the beautiful setting of the Cayman Islands”.

We also hope to announce a possible venue for the 2016 ISBHF Caribbean Cup so we can start building for our next event in the warm Caribbean waters, and air.
