Posting for Junior Team Canada Equipment Manager

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association’s Junior Team Canada Program has set the standards in the world with the way we present ourselves on and off the floor. A big contributor to this profile is our equipment managers dedication to the teams.

 Our program has won 7 of 9 junior worlds in the last three trips (2008, 2010 and 2012). The travel consists of a pre-tournament training camp, the tournament and flight travel to and from Europe.

In order to move 66 minor players from various centres in Canada to Europe and throughout Europe, we are looking for an experienced equipment manager, preferably with hockey background for the program next June2014. The chosen candidate will need to be available for travel between June 17th and July 3rd,2014 (but not necessarily that entire length).

We have three teams traveling (U16, U18 and U20) – in the past we had an EM for U20 and one EM for the combined U16&U18 teams, our budgets and cities of travel will decide what we do this trip. This is not a paid position but all your travel costs, meals and apparel is covered.

Responsibilities of the Equipment Manager:

• Compiles and maintains inventory for all equipment for the team.
• Collects all equipment supplies prior to travel within budget.
• Tests and makes minor repairs to all players equipment prior to tournament.
• Responsible for all player stick travel within team stick bags.
• Set up and maintain team dressing rooms at training camp and tournament in a proper JTC manner.
• Responsible for all water bottles, including water hand outs at hotel
• Part of support staff supervision of players on and off floor, including sightseeing outings.
• On the bench for all team games.

Qualifications:

• Experience repairing all types of player/goalie equipment.
• Laying out team dressing room in a clean and orderly JTC manner. 
• Knowledge of hockey.
• Ability to travel the dates outlined.
• Ability to attend pre travel email and conference call communications.
• All costs when traveling with the team will be covered or reimbursed as seen.
