The Canadian Ball Hockey Association is pleased to announce 2022 Men's Masters Team Canada Roster...

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association is pleased to announce the players and staff representing Masters Team Canada at the 2022 ISBHF Men’s Masters World Ball Hockey Championships.

Head coach Doug McCarthy stated “What an honour it is to be associated with such great athletes for another fantastic opportunity to represent our country at the 2022 World Masters Championships of Ball Hockey. I’d like to first and foremost thank Francois for his dedication, effort and wisdom in building such a great group that will be proudly wearing the maple leaf across our chests. The work Francois puts in is commendable and we cannot thank him enough for being the driving force year after year.

For the players and staff, congratulations on being selected for this team. I am extremely excited to see such a great group of leaders coming back and such a fantastic group that will be joining us for the first time. Choosing a team is never easy considering the strength of players available, you are commended for being the ‘elite’ and committing yourself to your fitness, skill development and your sacrifice to be considered one of the best. Representing Team Canada brings with it great responsibility in how we conduct ourselves, the effort we bring to the floor and our commitment to a culture of Team First.  Being a member of this team means you are part of the ‘Team Canada Family’, and will have an experience of a lifetime playing the game we love and striving for our common goal.

2022 is going to be a fantastic and memorable year as we defend our World Championship from Bermuda, in ball hockey hot bed Czech Republic. Once again, congratulations on being selected and let’s prepare ourselves accordingly to pursue our goal of being a world champion!”

General Manager François Chalut added “The past experiences at the Worlds in Tampa Bay in 2014, Banff in 2016,  Bermuda in 2018, at  Nationals in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2019 and in Calgary in 2021 guided us to select our roster. Every team that competed this past August in Calgary is represented in Masters Team Canada. I would like to congratulate all the players that were considered to make this team but especially these twenty-five outstanding athletes on their selection on Masters Team Canada 2022. We selected a team that will be talented, intense, physical, fast and strong at every position. Forwards, defensemen and the goaltenders will give everything they got to compete for the coveted gold medal.”

Together, veterans and recruits will form a new family that will find what it takes to defend the world championship won in Bermuda. The quest for the gold has already started. The last two years have been very difficult for everyone and representing our country in 2022 gives us hope that this year will be better than the last ones.
