Junior Team Canada seeks Assistant Coach & Equipment Manager's...

2022 is going to be a busy year for the Junior Team Canada program. As such we are looking for applicants to fill an Assistant Coach Position with the U20 Girls Team as well as an Equipment Manager for the U20 Girls and U16 Boys teams.

Candidates must be able to travel and be prepared to be away in the summer of 2022.

When applying please be specific your program/group choice you would like to be working with. Please indicate if you have a second choice as well.

Criteria of Junior Team Canada Assistant Coach Applicants:

- Applicants must be a member in good standing of the CBHA and its Associations

- Experience Coaching junior elite athletes at high level competitions such as Provincials, WCC’s, Junior Nationals and/or World Juniors

- Completion of the “Respect in Sport” course and NCCP coaching levels would be an asset and may be required.

- Assistant Coaches must be able to travel and be away before, during and after the World Junior tournament dates.

- Assistant Coaches will be expected to promote, support and adhere to the CBHA High Performance Core Values and Canadian Ball Hockey Foundations put forth by the CBHA and Junior Team Canada General Manager.

- Experience in Coaching/Developing Junior players at the Elite level in other sports would be an asset.

- Applicants would have to provide a vulnerable section check completed” as you will be working
with minor aged players.

Junior Team Canada Assistant Coaches will be responsible for but not limited to:

- Assist the Head Coach to develop and prepare practice and game plans and promote a “style of play” that follows CBHA Coaching Foundations

- Be available for Junior Team Canada conference calls with CBHA President ,VP-Minors, JTC General Managers and JTC staff

- Strong Supervisor (with support from other JTC staff) for junior aged players during travel, hotels and all other areas during trip to ISBHF World Junior tournament

- Provide feedback or scouting reports on players if required

- Assist Junior Team Canada Head Coach in providing pre-tournament guidance on training for players preparing to represent Canada at World Juniors


Equipment Manager

Responsibilities of the Equipment Manager:

- Compiles and maintains inventory for all team equipment for the team

- Collects all equipment supplies prior to travel within budget

- Minor repair as required of player equipment during trip.

- Sets up and maintains team dressing room at all time

- Responsible for all team water bottles

- On team bench during games

- Assist staff with pre game snack/fruit table prior to games

- Assist with equipment flight check-in and bus travel storage

Qualifications:

- Experience with minor repair of player/goalie equipment

- Experience laying out team dressing rooms in a clean and orderly manner

- Experience with previous Elite Sport National or International events

- Knowledge of Ball Hockey/Ice Hockey.

- Ability to attend and take part in pre-travel email and conference call communications.

- Preference to those who have been involved with minor sports and minor ball hockey.

- Applicants if selected will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check.
