U20 Girls Junior Team Canada Announcement
2019-10-04CBHA announces U20 Girls Junior Team Canada Roster for 2020 World Cup...
It is exciting times again for Canadian Ball Hockey. The Girls Junior Team Canada U20 program will be sending 22 players along with coaching staff to Slovakia in July 2020 to compete in the ISBHF World Junior Championship.
After an exciting National Championship held this past July in Vancouver a number of very talented elite players emerged from some tight competition spreading across five provinces and seven teams. The players and coaches are ready to represent their country and take on the world in July.
The WJC tournament will provide the girls with an opportunity to play a sport they have come to love internationally. Playing at this high level elite ball hockey competition will serve the girls with a good foundation in their individual growth and development, as well as, an opportunity to develop and grow girls in sport. The players were selected based on, not only, their high caliber of skill, but also for their character and personality to represent Canada.
The goal for this tournament is to not only bring girls to the forefront of ball hockey on an international stage and win gold, but to also create a team that will set the bar for all future teams in girl's ball hockey. We expect a high level of competitiveness, sportsmanship, and team comradery from each of the players and are hoping to create an experience of a lifetime for all of them. As these girls grow up and have children it will not only be the medal they will remember and tell stories about, but also the opportunity to be a part of wearing the maple leaf and the experience of traveling to Slovakia during the trip of a lifetime.
