East Junior Team Canada Coaching Staff:
Head Coach: Sean Price
“Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: a desire, a dream, a vision” Muhammad Ali. Sean lives in the countryside just outside small-town Alliston Ontario with his wife, Carrie and their two sons Carter and Jack. Being active in the game for over 20 years as a player, executive and coach, he has travelled to Slovakia, Czech Republic and all corners of Canada, guiding his teams to 8 Provincial golds and 2 National Junior bronze. As a coach Sean says it is important to develop good people as well as good champions and ensures he takes the time to point out those life lessons along the way. As a “players coach” he listens and learns the personal story of each athlete and when that story becomes focused, he steps aside and that is when the player takes over. His goal is to share the journey with the athletes, coaches and their families on the road towards winning a championship, a lesson he learned as an Assistant Coach for U16 Junior Team Canada East under the tutelage of Thomas Walsh. Be prepared, work hard and trust your team mates to do the same. Being selected Head Coach for U16 Junior Team Canada is an honour, to be able to represent my country, my community, and my family is very humbling.
Assistant Coach: Ron Dennis
Ron was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. and was a first-team All-Ivy NCAA ice hockey player and Toronto Maple Leaf draft pick, Ron then settled in Toronto where he has been active as a coach and director with the Withrow Park Ball Hockey League since 2005. In his past three coaching assignments, his teams have won a silver medal at the U15 2018 Junior Nationals, a silver medal with JTC East at the 2019 U16 World Cup in the Czech Republic, and a gold medal at the 2019 U16 Ontario Provincials. He strongly believes in teamwork and team discipline, as evident with his teams notoriously having few goals against and very few penalty minutes. Ron looks forward to working with the players in support of their development as high performance athletes.
Assistant Coach: Trevor Dixon
Trevor grew up and currently resides in Makinsons, Newfoundland & Labrador with his wife and two sons. He has been heavily involved in ball hockey for the past 19 years both as a player and more recently as a coach. Provincially, he coaches high school and minor ball hockey that has included U15, U17 & U19 provincial titles. He has also been an assistant coach with the U19 NL Selects teams winning silver in 2018 and bronze in 2019 at Junior Nationals. Like all those involved in hockey in Canada, it has been a dream of his to represent our country in international play, and he is honoured to be a part of U16 Team Canada East. He has traveled to Europe twice before with school groups and enjoys experiencing the culture and history it has to offer. He is looking forward to working with coaches Price and Dennis to elicit the best in our team and make the most out of this once in a lifetime opportunity for our athletes with JTC 2020.
