Womens and Mens Masters Team Canada Accepting Applications - Physiotherapist
2018-06-11The 2018 ISBHF World Masters Championship are taking place in Hamilton, Bermuda, from September 26th to September 30th. CBHA is currently accepting applications from organized individuals interested in taking on the role of Team Physiotherapist or Athletic therapist for the Men’s and the Women’s team.
Physiotherapists or athletic therapist must be able to travel and be prepared to be away before, during and after the tournament dates. Please note this is not a paid position but all your travel and accommodation costs will be covered as well as your clothing for the event.
Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist:
• Compiles and maintains inventory for all supplies for the team
• Collects all supplies prior to travel within budget
• Reviews all supplies player medical history information
• Responsible for helping to maintain player health, including prevention and care of musculoskeletal injury and coordinating care with other members of support team such as the MD and/or Massage Therapist
• Set up and maintain physio rooms
• On the bench for all team games
Qualifications:
• Be competent in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in sport
• Be competent taping, splinting techniques
• Certified as a First Responder or CPR and First Aid
• Knowledge of ball hockey/hockey
• Ability to travel the dates outlined
• Ability to attend pre-travel e-mail and conference call communications
