Mandi Duhamel is returning as head coach to defend the Gold Medal result in Banff with the Women’s Masters Ball Hockey program. Duhamel states “We had such an amazing group of women in 2016, as soon as I saw the roster for the 2018 event and the number of returning players I knew I wanted to be a part of the adventure again”
Mandi brings a wealth of hockey knowledge in many facets of the game. After graduating from the University of Ottawa and entering into the CWHL, Mandi began her coaching career in USports with Carleton University. She has since continued coaching at the collegiate level with time at University of Ottawa and most recently with the University of Calgary. Beyond this she has experience coaching nationally with Team Ontario at U18 Nationals and internationally at the FISU games with Team Canada.
In 2016 Mandi was at the helm of the Gold Medals winning Women’s Masters Team in her first coaching experience with the CBHA. For the past 5 years she has held the position of Manager, Female development with Hockey Canada and was very excited to bring her experience to the ball hockey bench. Having the opportunity to lead this Masters team again, she hopes to continue to build the program and support the growth of the CBHA.
She has been a member of the CBHA for the past ten years as a player and coach. A National Champion with Team Alberta in 2016 she was selected to be a member of the 2017 Women’s World Championship Team. Mandi had the honour of being selected as Team Captain of the Bronze winning squad.
Duhamel looks forward to this experience, “I’m very thankful for the CBHA to be giving me another opportunity to lead this team. Our goal will be to represent Canada and play our hearts out for that Gold Medal”
