The Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) is seeking applications for volunteer Junior Team Canada General Managers for a two year position (2017-2018). The CBHA will be appointing one General Manager for the U20 and U18 teams participating at the 2018 International Street and Ball Hockey Federation (ISBHF) World Junior U18 & U20 Championship held in Canada. The CBHA is also appointing one General Manager for the U16 team that will be participating in the 2018 ISBHF U16 World Cup in the Czech Republic.
Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the overall operation of the Junior Team Canada (U18/U20 and U16) Program to ensure the following:
- All staffed positions are offered in fair and transparent manner to CBHA members.
- All player selections are done fairly and are representative of the National scouting processes in synergy with HP Director and Scouting team (e.g. camps, regional scouting, etc.) and that player selections respect the regulations of the CBHA & CBHA HP Core Values.
- That each team have appropriate medical and therapeutic staff.
- That players and staff understand the code of conduct and ethical behaviour representative of the CBHA.
- That all Team Canada coaching staff has taken Respect in Sport training.
- Examine options to save money and resources through coordination.
- Implement coordinated sponsorship strategies.
- Ensure teams have similar jerseys to create a brand for Canada and the CBHA.
4. In coordination with the CBHA HP Director solicit applications, interview and name Assistant GM.
5. In coordination with the HP Director and selected Junior Team Canada Head Coaches solicit applications, interview and select staff for Junior Team Canada teams.
6. In coordination with CBHA HP Director and Assistant GM, help develop team budgets for approval by the CBHA BOD.
7. Communicate regularly with the CBHA HP Director to ensure any requests from CBHA Minors Council are being communicated and implemented.
8. Develop and present post event reports to the CBHA HP Director.
9. Participate as part of the Canadian delegation at Junior World Championships.
10. Report Directly to the CBHA HP Director.
Qualifications:
- Membership as a player, coach or volunteer in a CBHA sanctioned Provincial Association.
- Experience managing elite level teams at the provincial, regional, national or international levels.
- Experience in scouting HP athletes and developing scouting plans/teams
- Experience hiring and managing volunteer staff
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Strong communication and networking skills
- Good knowledge of the English language; French is an asset
- Experience working in team environment
- Experience chairing or sitting on Committees or Boards.
Opportunity to work in a key position at CBHA and ISBHF top ball hockey events.
- Facilitate an important role in the development of ball hockey in Canada.
- Administrative support through the CBHA HP Director, CBHA Administrator.
- Reimbursement of travel costs and per diems according to CBHA reimbursement policy (telephone, travel, printing, etc.).

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) is a registered non-profit organization. It is officially recognized as the governing body of the sport of ball hockey in Canada by the International Street & Ball Hockey Federation (ISBHF) and Hockey Canada. Nine Provincial members belong to the Association including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador. The CBHA hosts three annual National Championships. The 2018 Championships are as follows:
National Men's B,C,D and Ladies B - St. John's, NL - July 20-23
Junior Nationals - Kitchener, Ontario - July 27 - July 30
National Men's and Ladies 'A' and Masters - St. John, New Brunswick - August 7-13
