Team Canada 1 (Wolfpak) and Team Canada 1 (Women) Take GOLD in Banff with Silver for Team Canada 2 Men!

2016-06-28

Albeit belatedly, the Canadian Ball Hockey Association couldn't be prouder in extending a HUGE congratulations to all of our Masters Men and Women for their outstanding results at Banff 2016.

An exceptional venue. An exceptional location. An exceptional display of sportsmanship, and raw talent. What more can you say about the incredible success that was #MastersElevated.

Banff 2016 was an event to be remembered by all who competed, and Team Canada - across the board - will be go down in the history books as four great Canadian Masters teams.

Says CBHA President, Shelley Callaghan, "I couldn't be prouder to be a part of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association right now. Our Men and Women showed up, and bought with them both talent in spades and a sincere desire to win. Team Canada Women were outstanding from beginning to end, and to have both Canadian Men's teams going head to head in the Final was something we could have only hoped for. Both teams left nothing to chance and played their hearts out, with Team Canada 1 (aka The Wolfpak) taking gold in an incredible overtime win as they well deserved. Those players showed class and skill, and we are tremendously proud of them.".

The smiles say it all, as Team Canada 1 (Wolfpak) take Gold at Banff 2016. Goaltender Aaron Campisano (in black) also took home Best Goaltender award.

Masters Team Canada Women won every game they played against strong competition, with Clarissa Arsenault taking home the Top Scorer Award, and Isabelle Aube taking home the award for Best Forward. They came out strong, understanding that competition would be faster and stronger than in 2014 Worlds. They came with four lines to ensure they set a fast pace, and kept other teams on their heels the whole way. USA 1 was a force to be reckoned with and having back to back games - round robins and finals - allowed both teams to measure each other up and prepare for what was an amazing 2-1 final.

Team Canada Women celebrate after an incredible 2-1 win over USA 1.

The CBHA congratulates all four Canadian teams - with a special mention to Team Canada 2 (Mens) who took home Silver - a no less meaningful accolade - for their incredible efforts. We are so proud of you all!
