Sara Hayward Announced as General Manager for Women’s Masters Team Canada
2015-09-29The CBHA is pleased to announce that Sara Hayward has been named the General Manager of Women’s Masters Team Canada for a second time.
The inaugural women’s event took place in Tampa, Florida in 2014 where Canada captured the first ever Women’s Masters World Championship. The 2016 ISBHF Men’s and Women’s Masters Ball Hockey Championships will be held in Banff, AB in June of 2016.
CBHA High Performance Director George Gortsos says, “High Performance is proud to add Sara Hayward to the high level, high achievement General Managers we have in our National Program at all levels at this time in the CBHA. As a World Champion at this level she will build another team that will represent Canada with pride.”
Hayward says “Having the opportunity to put a team together, alongside CBHA President Shelley Callaghan, for Tampa in 2014 and capturing a World Championship was a dream come true. I have been involved in managing teams in a variety of sports for over two decades locally, provincially and at the university level so to have this opportunity internationally, not once but now twice, is an honour. My goal for Banff in 2016 is to put together a team representing Canada from coast to coast to defend our title here in Canada.”
The team will be selected using an application process. Applications will be available on cbha.com.
