2015 CBHA Nationals | Ottawa, ON | Going Into Finals
2015-08-13We are four days into Nationals here in Ottawa and there is absolutely no doubt about the future of ball hockey in Canada - it is rock solid, and very bright.
Finishing up Day Four of the 2015 CBHA National Ball Hockey Championships here at Jim Durrell Recreation Centre in Ottawa, ON and teams for quarter finals are locked and loaded.
"So far, this year's Nationals have been amazing," says High Performance Director George Gortsos. "We haven't even started seeing what our athletes will bring to the finals, but already the quality of talent we are seeing here in Ottawa is outstanding. I am very excited about the next two days, for sure.".
Four days of round-robin have resulted in the following teams moving onto quarter finals tomorrow:
Chris Pellerin Division:
The Marketplace - a showcasing expo for ball hockey suppliers, and brainchild of event organizer and CBHA President Shelley Callaghan - has taken over the lobby of Jim Durrell, and is providing an element of non-sport colour to this years Nationals. LIKA Sports, ballhockeygear.ca, Salming shoes, Brash87 and Mylec are all set-up, talking about their gear, selling and taking orders.
Overcoming some initial technical issues at the venue, the guys from PB&J Media have hi-def cameras filming all games for archiving. Thursday's games off Peplinski floor are on the Canadian Ball Hockey Association's YouTube channel, albeit in lower resolution to optimize upload speed. Both Friday and Saturday will see games on Peplinski and Walkley uploaded within 40 minutes of play ending. Subscribe to the channel https://www.youtube.com/user/CanadianBallHockey to stay on top of the action. PB&J Media are also pulling together a commercial quality sizzle-reel of the event that already promises not to dissapoint. Stay tuned...
