Organisers Lock In Partnerships That Ensure Western Regionals Will Be An Event Not To Be Missed!

2015-04-13

Host league partner with Brandon First, official Tournament Headquarters is confirmed and world-class venue Keystone Centre awaits!

Vancouver, BC, April 13, 2015– July 23-26th will see Brandon, MB play host to ball hockey players from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and of course the home province, as they all compete to take home the trophy at this year’s Western Canadian Regional Championships.
An early working partnership with Brandon First – a not-for-profit organization that helps secure and deliver events for the city of Brandon – has helped cement solid foundational plans that will ensure the success of Western Regionals. Brandon First will continue to work with event organizers from Host league, the Wheat City Ball Hockey League, in the lead up to Western Regionals with the hope to secure sponsorship funding from local businesses.

“Brandon First is honored to partner with the local organizing committee to welcome the Western Regional Championships to our city,” says Executive Director of Brandon First, Jackie Keyes. “Groups like the WCBHL are instrumental in driving economic activity in our community through this type of event.  We will provide as much support and as many resources as we can to ensure the success of these championships with desire to create a solid foundation to attract many more events in the future. Not only does the entire community benefit from the hundreds of visitors that Brandon will see during these four days, but building the awareness and profile of this fast growing sport is a lasting legacy that will have an impact for years to come in Brandon.”.

In news that positions Western Regionals as an event not to be missed, Brandon’s CanadInn has also been confirmed as the location for Western Regionals Headquarters. Convenience being a huge draw card at competitions of this size, the CanadInn facility is adjoining to competition venue, the Keystone Centre, making both sport competition and the business side of ball hockey seamlessly integrated. Keystone Centre is Brandon’s major convention and exhibition centre and is centrally located in Brandon’s thriving commercial district.

“The problem you often have with these events is that everyone is always running around trying to be in multiple places at once. Securing Brandon’s CanadInn as the event HQ is a huge win for everyone attending. It takes the pressure off officials, administrators, support crew and those with ball hockey business to attend to, and makes it possible for everyone to just come and enjoy Regionals at Keystone Centre without the hassle of travelling between multiple venues.” says CBHA Administrator Matt Holbrook.

Naming rights to the jewel event in the Western Regionals fundraising crown – the “Steak & Spud Night” – are still up for grabs! Steak & Spud Night will be a team and sponsor event held prior to Regionals to say thank you to all those who have contributed through the event planning process. On a similar theme, there are also whispers that a DJ and family entertainment zone will be taking up residence during Western Regionals, but more on that in another post! Stay tuned…
