Donations of goods and services from the Canadian ball hockey family needed to make Team Canada’s May 2015 online auction a success!

Vancouver, BC, April 2, 2015– In June of this year, fifty of Team Canada’s best ball hockey athletes will compete in the International Street & Ball Hockey Federation’s (ISBHF) World Championships in Zug.

Fundraising remains Team Canada’s biggest challenge. The CBHA does not receive any Government funding so athletes are responsible for their own expenses. In an effort to help alleviate financial pressures at this critical time for the Men’s and Women’s teams, the CBHA will be hosting an online auction from May 1 – May 24, 2015.

“Playing for Team Canada at the World Championships is the pinnacle of a ball hockey player’s athletic career. It’s an achievement that reflects an athlete’s long-term commitment to the sport and to their training. Further, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent our sport and country on the international stage”, says CBHA President, Shelley Callaghan.

Donations in the past have ranged from signed sporting memorabilia, tickets to sporting and entertainment events, gift certificates for stores, restaurants, spa’s and golf, opportunities to meet VIP’s and celebrities, airline tickets and sporting goods, electrical goods and homewares.

The CBHA is calling on the Canadian ball hockey family for donations of items, goods and services that can be included in the 2015 online auction. In return, the CBHA will recognize individuals, companies and corporations publicly in appreciation.

Continues Shelley, “The CBHA is so proud of these athlete’s and hopes that the auction will enable them to focus on their preparations by removing some of the financial burdens associated with getting to Zug. Any and all donations are very gratefully received and I personally extend my sincere appreciation”.
