Bill Marr named as 2015 Women’s Team Canada Equipment ManagerPlease welcome the 2015 Women's Team Canada Equipment Manager, William (Bill) Marr from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. William (Bill) Marr's current hockey employment is with the Yarmouth Jr.A Mariners (6 years).
He has 18 years experience as a Medical trainer/ Equipment manager. Along with all those years of equipment trainer experience, he has held duo roles as a medical trainer at many Hockey Canada World Junior A events. He has been involved in 100's of room set ups at both the semi-pro, local and national levels and takes great pride in handling any challenges that may arise. Bill is accountable and respected for his actions in these very important roles.
As a huge team player, it wouldn't be surprising if he jumped in to assist the men's team if required to ensure that all Team Canada athletes are taken care of and ready to perform at these Championships.
When Bill is away from the rink, he can be found at the fire hall. He is currently serving as Fire Captain in Halifax.
Justin Parsons named as 2015 Women’s Team Canada Physiotherapist
The 2015 Women's Team Canada Physiotherapist has been named to join the staff and team as they prepare for the World Championships in Zug, Switzerland. Please welcome Justin Parsons from Quispamsis, New Brunswick.
Since 2009, Justin has been employed at the Ken-Val Rehab & Sports Injury Management Centre, Rothesay, New Brunswick. He is currently the Rehabilitation Consultant for the Saint John Sea Dogs, of the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL). Justin holds a Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS (October 2008) and a Bachelor's of Science in Human Kinetics from Saint Francis Xavier University (May 2005)
When Justin was asked why he wanted to work with Women's Team Canada, he stated he 'has a passion to work with elite athletes…. and am excited about the prospect of being involved with a program dedicated to the goal of defending their world championship."
Amongst a variety of sports to be involved in, Justin is the physiotherapist for Rothesay Netherwood School, a private school in Rothesay, New Brunswick that has a strong focus on both athletics and academics, and has competitive teams in hockey, rugby, soccer, basketball and rowing. He has played competitive ice and ball hockey as a youth.
