Team Canada Ball Hockey are looking for the best to assist our women's team as they battle in their quest for Gold!
In order to keep the 20 best players from across the country in great condition during a very intense championship overseas, we are looking for an experienced physiotherapist, with a hockey background for the program next June 2015. The chosen candidate will need to be available for travel between June 18th and June 29th, 2015. This is not a paid position but all your flight, hotel and apparel is covered. The travel consists of a flight to Europe, the tournament and return.
Responsibilities of the Physiotherapist:
• Compiles and maintains inventory for all supplies for the
team.
• Collects all supplies prior to travel within budget.
• Review all supplied player medical history information.
• Conduct pre-tournament baseline testing for all athletes regarding concussion.
• Responsible for helping to maintain player health,
including prevention and care of musculoskeletal injury;
• Outline an EAP for on site use
• Set up and maintain physio rooms at the
tournament in a proper Team Canada manner.
• Assist when possible the EM for all water bottles,
including water handouts at hotel
• Part of support staff supervision of players on and off
floor, including sightseeing outings.
• On the bench for a practice and all team games.
Qualifications:
• Be competent in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of
musculoskeletal injuries in sport.
• Be competent in taping, splinting techniques
• Certified as a First Responder or CPR and First Aid
• Laying out and responsible for physio room in a clean and
orderly Team Canada manner.
• Knowledge of hockey.
• Ability to travel the dates outlined.
• Ability to attend pre travel email and conference call
communications.
