Announcing Women’s Team Canada 2015
2014-10-27The High Performance Program of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) is pleased to announce the players that have been selected for Women’s Team Canada that will compete at the 2015 ISBHF World Ball Hockey Championships in Zug, Switzerland June 19-28, 2015.
For more information on this much anticipated event please go to: http://zug2015.com/
The team has been carefully selected by the coaching staff and includes our best female players from coast-to-coast. Of the 20 players selected, 14 are returning from the team that won Gold in St. John’s Newfoundland in 2013. These experienced veterans will be joined by 6 impressive new players eager to join Team Canada and defend our Championship on the world stage.
Head Coach Diana Brown says “I am very pleased to have such a solid veteran base and also to welcome some really exciting new talent. In defending our World Champion status we will face some stiff competition from some hard playing teams such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the U.S. but I am confident that our team has what it takes to capture gold again.”
Preparations for the journey to Zug are already underway, with the team starting fundraising and sponsorship initiatives to raise the much needed funds to make the trip overseas. Please stay tuned for more information on sponsorship opportunities and thank you so much for your support.
We look forward to seeing this team in action in Zug!
